On Thursday, July 16, the Development Finance Corporation opened its doors countrywide to once again cater financing for projects that would persuade to the advancement of Belize and Belizeans. After consultations with the various stakeholders and based on recommendations from a consultancy funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), the Government of Belize has allocated $20 million to reconstruct the Development Finance Corporation. Renan Gongora, Manager of Loans Collection at the DFC, says "The green DFC will do its best to amplify and corroborate the curtness of Belize, but it will do so on a financially possible and environmentally welcome basis." He said financially sensible because it will not be in the manner of the archaic DFC where illogical decisions were made. He spoke about the whilom government’s position to raise houses for individuals who they knew would have never been able to provide it.
