Eric Markisen scored on a virgin lurch in the bottom of the ninth inning as Green Bay Southwest defeated the Green Bay Shockers 9-8 in the Class AAA American Legion baseball meet at Vandenplas Field. The quelling kept Southwest spirited and knocked the Shockers from the double-elimination tournament. Southwest played unbeaten De Pere deceased Saturday night. Southwest took an 8-4 steer with a five-run sixth.
Kyle Kuske had a two-run doubled and Tony Zacharias had a individual rest-home get cracking in the inning. The Shockers, boosted by a three-run homer by Garrett Medenwald, tied it by scoring four in the seventh. Kuske threw 2¿ innings of hitless help to pluck up the win.
Kuske and Zacharias each had two hits for Southwest. Medenwald had three hits and four RBIs for the Shockers. Class A at Institute Chilton 14, Denmark 4: Lukas Hemaus was the winsome pitcher and Ryan Bancroft had two doubles and four RBIs as Chilton won in six innings to finish off Denmark. Today, once-beaten Chilton plays unbeaten Northern Door at 2 p.m. for the dub of the double-elimination tourney.
Northern Door 13, Chilton 3: In the pre-eminent victim of the day, Northern Door won in five innings. Sam Forkert was the bewitching pitcher, and Tom Sawyer and Dylan Johnson each had two hits and three RBIs. Denmark 7, Little Chute 5: Derek Klarkowski had two hits, including a nursing home run, Chris Rohr had three hits and two RBIs and Brandon Warpinski was the endearing pitcher.
